Steve Jones brings a wealth of experience with him and has been a full time agent since 1994.  He is a life-long resident of McDowell County.  Steve is the Team Leader of Joanne Howle Realty brokered by eXp Realty.  Joanne Howle Realty began operations in 1978 and partnered with eXp Realty in 2022.  

When you hire Steve, you get the benefit of his knowledge and judgment.  He is eager to share his experience with clients as well as with fellow REALTORS.

PERSONAL PROFILE:

I am a life-long Marion resident.  My father retired from the textile business with Coats American (formerly American Thread).  My mother is retired from the McDowell County school system (West McDowell Junior High School).

I grew up in the Pleasant Gardens area where I attended Pleasant Gardens Elementary school, West McDowell Junior High school, and McDowell High school.  I then graduated from Gardner Webb University.

My wife, the former Shannon Bowman, and I met after college.  She is from the Nebo area.  She graduated from Appalachian State University in December 1997 and is employed by the McDowell County Department of Social Services.  We have one child, a son named Bud Jones, born 01/02/03.  Bud was the second child born at the McDowell Hospital in 2003.

I am active in the local Marion Rotary Club and have served as Secretary, Board of Director At-Large, and Treasurer.  I currently serve on the Board of Trustees of the McDowell Hospital (past Chair), Board of Directors of The Foundation of the McDowell County School System, and the Board of Directors of the McDowell Tech Foundation Board.  I have served on the the Board of Directors of the McDowell County Habitat For Humanity, the McDowell County Chapter of the American Red Cross, McDowell Trails Association, and several other boards.  I am a Past President of the McDowell Board of REALTORS®.   I attend Grace Community Church in Marion.  In 2022, I was awarded the Duke Energy Citizenship and Service award.  

I own rental houses, apartments, and commercial buildings in McDowell County and have great interest in real estate investing.  

My activities include professional development courses, reading, civic activities, volunteering with McDowell Emergency Management, and travel.
